Wind Turbine Main Shaft
This 18 ton main shaft for a 2.4 MW wind turbine was rebuilt and tested. It is ready to be trucked to the wind farm for installation.

Rocky Reach Dam - Chelan Public Utilities
MI rebuilt and reconditioned all bearing and sealing surfaces on wicket gates for turbine generators. Several truck loads of gates were shipped over the Cascade mountains to the Rocky Reach dam on the Columbia River.
Critical Repairs on 1920s Era Hydro Dam
The Ketchikan, Alaska hydro plant built in the 1920s, needed repairs. During a 3 month winter shutdown the equipment was repaired and up and running when spring arrived.

Wind energy
MI produces gears, bearings, gear boxes, drive shafts and hubs for wind turbines. MI replaced a main shaft bearing with a newly machined bearing, on a 18 ton main shaft for a Siemens Wind generator installation. MI disassembled, rebuild, assembled and tested a 2.4 megawatt gear box for Mitiubishi.
A wind turbine company approached MI with a problem: could MI make hubs that would allow the blade pitch to be adjusted. MI developed an innovative machining method to do just that.
Coal pulverizer gearbox rebuild
MI manufactured new gears, replaced parts, and provided inspection / assembly of the gear box for the Boardman coal-fired power plant.
